Etisalat Group Joins GSMA and Global Mobile Health Community in Battle Against Diabetes
May 14th, 2013 - Abu Dhabi, UAE - The Etisalat Group is throwing its full support behind a GSMA initiative to find effective
technological solutions for the epidemic of diabetes.
In September, a team of the company’s most determined employees from the Middle East, Africa and Asia will participate in
a 2000km, Pan-European cycle tour – the GSMA mHealth Grand Tour (www.mhealthtour.com) with the aim to raise
awareness of diabetes, showcase mobile health technologies that are being developed and create data to help global health
authorities shape effective policies that will help those suffering from this disease and others.

Etisalat has opened the challenge to its 40,000 staff across its fifteen countries of operation. All full-time employees have
been invited to nominate themselves for this trip of a lifetime in a holistic ‘Etisalat Group Challenge’.

Zantel launches ‘Recharge and Win’ promotion in Zanzibar
Zanzibar - May 6th,2013 - Zantel Tanzania has launched a new
promotion dubbed ‘Recharge & Win’ as part of its sustained
effort to reward loyal and new customers on its network in
Zanzibar.
The mega promotion, whose grand prize is a car to one lucky
winner at the end of the promotion in July; will also see other
winners taking home Scooters, Huawei Media pads, 3G modems
and 1 million worth of airtime.

Pratap Ghose named new CEO of Zantel
Dar es Salaam - April 22nd, 2013
Zantel Tanzania, has announced the appointment of Pratap Ghose as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), replacing Ali Bin Jarsh, who successfully led the operations at Zantel Tanzania for the past couple of years.
Prior to this appointment Pratap, who has 18 years experience in various sectors including telecommunication was the Group Vice president for Etisalat, Finance and Business Optimization for the Africa Region for Etisalat Group.

Etisalat yesterday repeated last year's success at the most important annual gathering of the telecommunications industry by winning a majoraward for innovation.
The Middle East's leading telecommunications operator won in the "Best Near Field Communication/Mobile Money Product" category at the GSMA's Global Mobile Awards 2013 during the Mobile World Congress being held in Barcelona, Spain, from February 25 to 28, adding to three awards from the industry's most prestigious competition last year.
